39 new Covid-19 cases in Oro over the weekend

THE number of new coronavirus infections in Cagayan de Oro continued to drop, as the city recorded 39 new cases over the weekend, of which one was a returning overseas Filipino worker (ROF), one was a locally stranded individual (LSI), and 37 were local transmissions.

The cumulative confirmed cases in the city have reached 20,095.

The City Health Office said that among the 37 local cases, 15 were local index cases, 15 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, five local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and two Apors with link.

Likewise, the active cases in Cagayan de Oro went down to 676, of which 195 were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 479 were outpatients, and two were ROFs/LSIs.

Cagayan de Oro also registered an increase in the number of new coronavirus-positive persons who were tagged as "recovered."

Over the weekend, the city recorded 52 recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 18,583.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 836.
