4 Covid-19 patients, 54 close contacts in Oro test negative

FOUR locally stranded individuals (LSIs), who had tested positive for the novel coronavirus, are now tagged as "recovered" after their repeat swab test results came out negative on Monday, August 24.

This brought the total number of patients in the city who have recovered from Covid-19 to 161.

Those who have recovered were a 26-year-old female LSI from Consolacion, Cebu and a resident of Barangay Indahag; a 27-year-old male LSI from Biñan, Laguna and a resident of Barangay Kauswagan; a 26-year-old male LSI from San Isidro, Talisay City and a resident of Barangay Carmen; and a 26-year-old male LSI from Parañaque and a resident of Barangay Lapasan.

Meanwhile, 54 close contacts of the five local Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro have also tested negative for the virus, City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said.

Among the 54 close contacts is the 17 family contacts of the 209th case, the 66-year-old male resident of Purok 4, Sitio Sta. Cruz, Barangay Camaman-an; six family contacts of the 232nd case, 29-year-old female resident of a gated community in Upper Carmen; six workplace contacts of the 230th case, the 30-year-old daughter of the 192nd case (73-year-old Covid-positive woman who died on August 11); and the four family contacts of the 210th case, the 69-year-old male resident of Zone 7 Acacia Street in Barangay Carmen.

Also negative for the virus were the six family contacts and 15 workplace and city isolation unit contacts of the 211th case, the 58-year-old female resident of Barangay Balulang.
