43 residents in Cagayan de Oro contract Covid-19

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health has logged 43 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases over the weekend, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 3,125.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 43 new cases, 26 are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, eight are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), eight local index cases, and one death.

Of the 3,125 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 417 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,708 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,708 local cases consist of 182 persons deprived of liberty, 1,347 local index cases and 1,152 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 356 active cases, 107 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 237 outpatients, and 12 are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 23 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,609.

Of the figure, 294 are LSIs, 110 are ROFs, and 2,205 are local cases

(community: 1,856; Apors: 349).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 160.
