7 Kagay-anons contract coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office on Saturday, January 30, 2021, reported 12 city residents who tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 3,314.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said four of the seven new local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, two are authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and one local index case.

Of the 3,314 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 419 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,895 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,895 local cases consist of 185 persons deprived of liberty, 1,460 local index cases and 1,250 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 316 active cases, 103 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 210 outpatients, and three are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 17 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,831.

Of the figure, 299 are LSIs, 116 are ROFs, and 2,416 are local cases (community: 2,038; Apors: 378).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 167.
