71 Cagayan de Oro residents contract coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office recorded 71 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, all of which are local transmissions.

This brought the total number of confirmed infections in the city to 5,540.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 71 new local cases, 19 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 28 were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), 21 were local index cases and three deaths.

Of the 5,540 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 438 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 5,102 cases were local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro logged 773 active cases, 190 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 581 were outpatients, and two were ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 52 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 4,533, with an 81.82-percent recovery rate.

Of the figure, 312 were LSIs, 123 were ROFs, and 4,098 were local cases (community: 3,486; Apors: 612).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 234.
