A TOTAL of 75 couples in Cagayan de Oro City tied the knot last Saturday, February 23, at the San Isidro Labrador Parish Eco Church, Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City.

The ceremony, organized by the City Civil Registrar Office, was witnessed by First District Representative Congressman Roland "Klarex" Uy and Cagayan de Oro City Vice Mayor Rainier Joaquin "Kikang" Uy who provided lechon and cakes for the married couples.

Monsignor Rey Manuel Monsanto, who presided over the ceremony, lauded the effort of the city government in organizing such an activity that aims to strengthen and officially place God in the relationship of the Kagay-anon couples.

He also cited the importance of the love of God in each of us and respect between the married couples.

"Magpabilin kamo nga mahigugmaon sa Diyos ug morespeto sa usa'g usa. Without respect, love will die," Monsanto said.

The mass wedding project of the city government coincides with the observance of the Civil Registration Month in February.
