Agusan del Sur village chair shot dead

A VILLAGE chairman in Agusan del Sur was shot dead by riding-in-tandem assailants on Tuesday, October 1, 2019.

Police identified the victim as 48-year-old Elver Salva, village chair of Barangay Padiay, Sibagat town, Agusan del Sur.

Police said Salva was on his way to the town terminal when suspects onboard a motorcycle shot the victim five times, hitting the different parts of his body. The firearm used in the shooting is believed to be a .45 caliber pistol.

The victim was brought at MJ Santos Hospital, Butuan City for treatment but died shortly.

Police are still conducting hot pursuit operation and investigation for the identification and apprehension of the suspects.
