POLICE served an arrest warrant against former Ozamiz City councilor Ricardo “Ardot” Parojinog for murder charges at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Service in Camp Crame Tuesday, February 4.

Parojinog was served with the warrant of arrest issued by a Regional Trial Court in Ozamis City dated March 7, 2018.

The court did not allow the accused to post bail.

“The arrest of the accused is due to the relentless operation of Ozamiz City police in the campaign against wanted person and lawless elements in their area of responsibility,” Misamis Occidental provincial police director Colonel Danildo Tumanda said.

Parojinog, the younger brother of slain Ozamiz City mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr., was arrested in Taiwan last May 24, 2018, nearly 10 months after he went into hiding.

He was among the subjects of a search warrant for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition used on July 30, 2017 by authorities to raid the Parojinog compound and two farms owned by the family in Ozamiz City.

The said raid ended with the killing of the late mayor, his wife and 13 others. The councilor was not at home at the time.
