Cagayan de Oro logs 26 new Covid-19 cases; 22 recoveries

TWENTY-SIX residents of Cagayan de Oro have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 3,162.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said 13 of the 26 new local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, four are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and nine are local index cases.

Of the 3,162 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 417 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,745 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,745 local cases consist of 182 persons deprived of liberty, 1,396 local index cases, and 1,167 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 367 active cases, 113 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 245 outpatients, and six ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 22 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,637.

Of the figure, 296 are LSIs, 114 are ROFs and 2,227 are local cases (community: 1,874; Apors: 353).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 161.
