Cagayan de Oro logs 9 new Covid-19 cases, 69 recoveries

THE City Health Office of Cagayan de Oro reported Wednesday, December 30, nine new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 2,817.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the nine new local cases, one is a close contact of a previously confirmed case and two are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors).

Of the 2,817 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 400 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,417 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,417 local cases consist of 179 persons deprived of liberty, 1,225 local index cases and 1,013 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 263 active cases, 99 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 159 outpatients, and five are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 69 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered" after their repeat swab test results came out negative. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,416.

Of the figure, 287 are LSIs, 106 are ROFs, and 2,023 are local cases (community: 1,697; Apors: 326).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 140.
