PJ Orias

THE city's contact tracing team is retracing the activities of Cagayan de Oro's ninth Covid-19 patient, including information that the deceased patient was among the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) beneficiaries who lined up during the distribution.

City epidemiologist Dr. Joey Retuya said they are validating information that the patient and her husband were among who lined up during the SAP distribution on May 4.

Retuya said they have asked the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) for the list of the beneficiaries during the May 4 distribution as part of their contact tracing efforts.

Mayor Oscar Moreno is asking those who had an interaction with the patient -- her friends, neighbors, and relatives -- to contact the City Health Office.

"Let's address this in a manner nga based on science," Moreno said.

Moreno also appealed to the residents in the area to remain in their homes as relief goods will be delivered to each households.

The City Government had sealed off the area in Macanhan, Barangay Carmen where the woman who tested positive of Covid-19 lived.

Moreno said the community needs to be cordoned off to regulate the movement of people in the place.
