Coronavirus-positive employees in NMMC now at 134

THE total number of Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) employees who tested positive for the novel coronavirus has reached 134 as of Friday, January 29, liaison officer Dr. Bernard Rocha said.

However, there are no employees currently admitted in the hospital and only 15 employees of the figure are at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

Of the 134 coronavirus-positive NMMC employees, 119 have recovered from the disease, with 108 of them already allowed to go home.

Rocha said these NMMC employees who tested positive for the virus were infected in the community.

He added that breaches are possible, as these employees might have gotten the virus when they attended gatherings during the holidays.

Rocha also clarified that the nurses who tested positive for the virus did not contract the disease while they were on duty at the Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Disease (Ereid) enclosure.

He said the NMMC has a protocol wherein the nurses who went on duty for seven days at the Ereid enclosure will have to undergo quarantine for seven days.

NMMC employees were also asked to fill in a declaration form.

"So we know the movement of our employees," Rocha said.

"Nataptan gyud ang mga atong mga empleyado sa community," he added.
