CITY Councilor Alam Lim remained coy about his political plans but that he was aware of the calls urging him to run for Congress.

"Alam na sa 2nd District", is a common phrase for some of Lim's colleagues teasing him to seek a congressional seat in the coming elections.

But Lim, the president of the Liga ng mga Barangay and chairperson of the committee on barangay affairs said this has not crossed his mind yet.

"Wala pa na, kay part lang na siguro kay nakita nila nga ako dili ako usa ka corrupt, dili ko trapo nga politician, pero wala pa na sa akong hunahuna. Tan-awon lang nato sa karon,” he said.

(They probably noticed I am not corrupt and not traditional politician, but I am not yet entertaining that. We’ll see)

"Pero nagpasalamat ta nga naay kapitan na musupport kay nakita siguro nila ang atong serbisyo," he said.

(But we are thankful that there are barangay captains who are willing to support because they saw how we serve.)

During Monday's weekly session, Lim delivered a special report lauding the collective effort of various sectors for the success of the city's emancipation program.

Lim, a former political opponent of the Moreno administration, said he was happy that the political bondage prevalent in resettlement areas is gone because of the emancipation program.

"By providing security of tenure, by handing to the beneficiaries the original land titles nga naka-pangalan na kanila, we have literally ended the political bondage in resettlement areas and emancipated them from the 'No Vote, Ibot' deceptive political maneuverings masterfully designed by the previous administration," Lim said.

Lim said he will commit to help the city's further efforts towards a stronger program on resettlement, housing and urban development.
