DOH: No shortage in Covid-19 test kits in Northern Mindanao

NORTHERN Mindanao has enough supply of test kits for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), the Department of Health (DOH) regional office assured on Tuesday, December 29.

DOH Regional Director Dr. Adriano Suba-an said Northern Mindanao has a total of 6,750 available test kits as of December 28.

Of the figure, Northern Mindanao TBRC Laboratory has 2,208 kits, Polymedic Medical Plaza Laboratory has 3,552 kits, and Lanao del Norte Biomolecular Laboratory has 1,000 kits.

"We have enough capacity in terms of testing as of this moment," Suba-an said.

"We have six laboratories, kung naay isa mahutdan, we refer, we have the routing mechanism. We help each other regardless kung pribado ba sya or a government laboratory sya," he added.

The regional director also highlighted that the combination outputs of the six laboratories in Northern Mindanao reached a total of 77,990 tests with a capacity of 958 tests per day.

There are also three laboratories in the region that are about to open, and these are located in Iligan City, Ozamis City and Misamis Occidental.
