THE Department of Tourism (DOT)-Northern Mindanao will be intensifying its monitoring of tourism-related establishments over the holidays as a surge of tourists are expected to visit the region's tourism destinations, the National Economic and Development Authority (Neda) reported on Friday, December 4.

Neda Regional Director Mylah Faye Aurora Cariño said tourists are urged to book in advance as tourism areas have already began determining their carrying capacity based on the guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force.

"Basin sayang they will spend time going to the place only to be turned away tungod kay wala silay reservation," Cariño said.

"Giawhag namo ang tanan to reserve in advance or to book in advance," she added.

As for health protocols, Cariño said there are no changes. People are reminded to practice minimum public health standards such as frequent handwashing, social/physical distancing and wearing face masks and face shields.
