Drug den in Iligan City dismantled; 12 arrested

ANTI-NARCOTICS agents in Northern Mindanao have dismantled a drug den and arrested 12 suspects in an anti-illegal drug operations at Majestic Inn, Labao street, Poblacion, Iligan City, over the weekend.

The Philippine drug Enforcement Agency-Northern Mindanao (PDEA-Northern Mindanao) arrested Dante Benitez Jr. and Ardel Ian Oanes along with their companions.

Also arrested are cohorts of Benitez identified as Rey Royeras, Lyka Las Pinas, Lyka Alcido, Ranier Tayone, Juvy Love Hinoo and Manilyn Leoncito and companions of Oanes known as Johnny Ladion, Jeffrey Baluya, Mark Ramil Santillan and Irish Onge.

Authorities seized a total of 11 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride commonly known as shabu weighing about 20 grams and worth around P136,000, including various drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are now detained at the PDEA-Northern Mindanao detention facility while facing various drug charges.

PDEA-Northern Mindanao spokesperson Rosemarie Bajao said the suspects have been making the rooms of the said inn as drug den for quite a while.

"Mao na kasagara ginahimo sa uban kay aron lisod sila tultulon," Bajao said.

"They are not really big players but what makes this a high impact operation is because drug den siya," she added.
