Ex-convict nabbed for illegal firearms possession

AN EX-CONVICT was put behind bars again after he was arrested for illegal possession of firearms in a raid in Barangay Luzana, Lopez Jaena, Misamis Occidental Thursday dawn, February 6.

Armed with a search warrant issued by a court in Oroquieta City, members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Misamis Occidental raided the house of Carlito Jemerino, 41, a laborer.

Police recovered a caliber .357 revolver, caliber 5.56 revolver, caliber .38 revolver and ammunition.

CIDG-Northern Mindanao Deputy Chief Lieutenant Colonel Napoleon Carpio said the suspect was sentenced for robbery with homicide last April 26, 2005. He was released last November 29, 2017.

Jemerino is now detained and will face illegal possession of firearms and ammunition charges.
