Ex-OFW nabbed for 'sextortion'

A FORMER overseas Filipino worker was arrested for allegedly threatening his girlfriend to expose her nude photos online in exchange for sex.

The suspect, identified as Jecky Michael Angelo Cailing, 29, resident of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, was arrested for threatening, coercing, and intimidating his former girlfriend for sexual favor.

He was arrested in an entrapment operation led by the police Anti-Cybercrime Group in Caraga region in barangay Puerto, Cagayan de Oro City on Thursday, November 28.

The operation was led by Caraga police since the complainant was from Butuan City.

Initial Investigation disclosed that the two met through social media and became a couple for two months.

The victim tried to end the relationship after the alleged threats but Cailing was persistent in demanding sexual favors.

The suspect, who is currently detained in Puerto Police Station, will be charged for violation of Article 294 of the Revised Penal Code or robbery extortion, Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 and violation of the Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009.
