WORKERS of all road concreting projects in Misamis Oriental have earned about P7.1 million because of the Provincial Government's infrastructure programs covered under the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP), the capitol said in its daily press briefer.

The CMGP, also known as the "Kalsada Program" of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), has benefited thousands of workers who were hired to complete the road projects in the province.

Around 20,385 workers have already received a total income of over P7 million from the second quarter of this year, according to the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO).

These road concreting projects include the Baliwagan-Pelaez-Impakibil provincial road in Balingasag town which is 44.56 percent completed; Manticao-Cabalantian-Mahayahay-Limunda provincial road, which is 41.93 percent accomplished; and Jasaan-Claveria provincial road, which is 39 percent finished.

This is how beneficial the program is if the local government is entrusted with the funds to implement the project, wherein we were never sued for corruption, particularly the administration of Governor Bambi Emano, who paved the way for the hundreds of millions of budget for the concreting of roads)," the Provincial Government said in a statement.
