Laborer shot in head, survives

A CONSTRUCTION worker was wounded after he was shot in the head by an unidentified assailant in Macanhan, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City, Tuesday dawn, July 23.

The victim was identified as Mark Anthony Romero, 27, resident of Zone 9, Hilltop, in Macanhan.

He was rushed to the city-run JR Borja General Hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound to the head. He is undergoing treatment.

Police Major Ian Borinaga, Police Station 4 chief, said investigators are still looking into the motive of the shooting.

"Posible pauli na ang biktima gabaklay dihang gipusil," Borinaga said.

He said police are still looking for pieces of evidence and witnesses.

Borinaga added the victim is not involved in illegal drug activity and has no criminal record.
