Manhunt on for farmer who killed coop employee

POLICE are hunting down a farmer who is allegedly responsible for the killing of an employee of a cooperative and wounding of his neighbor in Quezon, Bukidnon on Sunday, February 16.

Killed was Rey Sellar, 29, while his neighbor identified as Elmer Baluran is receiving treatment in the hospital after the suspect, Jay Barry Andoy, shot them using a caliber .45 pistol.

Sellar was said to be the older brother of the suspect's live-in partner.

Investigators said prior to the incident, the suspect went to Sellar's house and the latter came out armed with a knife and allegedly uttered foul words.

The suspect went home and came back armed with a pistol and shot Sellar several times, hitting him in the different parts of his body.

Baluran, on the other hand, who tried to pacify the incident, was hit accidentally hit on his stomach.

The suspect fled on board a motorcycle.

Investigators recovered five fired cartridge cases of caliber .45 pistol.

Police are eyeing personal grudge as motive in the incident.

"Ang suspect dili gusto sa pamilya sa babaye kay minyo ang suspect, busa nag-away sila sa biktima," Quezon town police chief Major Mitchel Clemencio said.
