Mayor’s son now at Angeles City jail

Alwen Saliring

THE eldest son of Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno arrested for allegedly selling and possession of illegal drugs in Angeles City was transferred from the detention facility of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Central Luzon to the Angeles City jail Thursday, July 11.

PDEA-Central Luzon information officer Glenn Guillermo said Moreno’s son, Sean, and seven other drug suspects underwent medical examination before they were committed to the city jail.

“Pinapa-medical muna sila then iko-commit na sa city jail,” Guillermo said.

Guillermo said they cannot question the court for the delay in the issuance of the commitment order.

The suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation after yielding around P1 million worth of party drugs last June 29. They underwent inquest proceedings on July 1.

“Isa ring update is mare-reshuffle daw yung hahawak sa kaso,” Guillermo said.

He also said the anti-narcotics agents are still investigating the network of the suspects in the illegal drug trade.
