Medina trader yields P100,000 worth of drugs

A BUSINESSMAN was arrested by police in Medina, Misamis Oriental after over P100,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized from his possession.

Police Brigadier General Rolando B Anduyan, Regional Director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-Northern Mindanao has disseminated to the public the arrest of Directorate for Intelligence (DI) listed drug personality on Friday afternoon, January 17.

Joint elements of the Regional Drugs Enforcement Unit-Northern Mindanao (RDEU-Northern Mindanao) and the Medina Municipal Police Station on Friday, January 17, nabbed Kristoffer Exzur Barcelona, 40, a resident of the said town.

Taken from the suspect was one rectangular heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as “shabu” during the drug bust.

Also confiscated were another five medium square size sachet containing suspected shabu with an estimate weigh of 25 grams worth P170,000.

Police said that Barcelona was under surveillance for more than two months before the operation was conducted.

The PRO-Northern Mindanao director urged police officers to continue the crackdown against illegal drugs to help the region become a safer and peaceful place to live, invest and do business.
