Misamis Occidental Police Office registers its 1st Covid-19 case

THE Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Office (MisOcc PPO) recorded its first confirmed case of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on September 19.

According to the police provincial office, the personnel tested positive in the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test.

The coronavirus-positive person was already placed in a quarantine facility at Doña Maria D Tan Memorial Hospital in Tangub City on September 10.

The identified close contacts of the said personnel, which consist of 12 co-officemates in the Provincial Intelligence Unit, were also placed in the isolation area in the MisOcc PPO facility earlier than September 10.

They will undergo a rapid diagnostic test.

Provincial Director Police Colonel Danildo Tumanda has heightened the precautionary measure among personnel in ensuring Covid-19 is contained and secure the welfare of the police personnel as much as the health condition is concerned.

As of September 20, the Police National Police (PNP) Health Service recorded 5,392 total confirmed cases, 1,329 of which are active cases, 4,046 have recovered, and 17 are dead.
