MISAMIS Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano has turned over more than P13 million for Brigada Eskwela.

The financial assistance is allocated for the 350 elementary schools and 71 high schools in the province.

Emano said the Local School Board would not hesitate to allocate funds for education as he had seen the unity among the teachers, principals, students and their parents.

The Mat-i Central School in Claveria town gets the biggest allocation with over P7 million, which will include construction of their covered court with stage and comfort rooms.

On the other hand, the Initao Comprehensive High School received P2.5 million for the improvement of their school. Other schools get P3 million for the said purpose.

Education is among the eight pillars of governance of the Emano administration.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
