MisOr Provincial Hospital-Balingasag resumes operation

MISAMIS Oriental Provincial Hospital-Balingasag's emergency room, laboratory room and pharmacy resumed its operation on Wednesday, August 5, Provincial Task Force for Covid-19 Chief Dr. Jerie Calingasan reported.

According to Calingasan, the general disinfection of the hospital by the disinfection team headed by Dr. Benjie Resma has already been completed.

He added that hospital employees, especially the medical and health care workers, were advised to go back to work immediately.

Admission of patients will follow soonest, he added.

On July 31, the Misamis Oriental Provincial Hospital-Balingasag closed down for disinfection and quarantine of close contact employees following the three coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases involving administrative personnel.

No doctors, nurses or other medical/healthcare personnel were infected by the virus at that time.

As of August 4, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Misamis Oriental is at 82, of which 59 are active cases, 22 recovered, and one death.

Of the 82 confirmed cases, 35 are locally stranded individuals, 35 are returning overseas Filipino workers, three Authorized Persons Outside Residence, and nine are local cases.
