More than 360,000 individuals vaccinated in Cagayan de Oro

THE City Government and the Health Office in Cagayan de Oro are striving to accelerate the rollout of vaccinations as this has contributed to the decline of new cases in the city, according to Mayor Oscar Moreno.

"Usa ni sa mga factors why the figures are improving, and atong vaccination," Moreno said.

"Importante gyud kaayo ang pagbantay, pag depensa through the minimum public health standards and also at the same time, importante ang pagpabakuna," he added.

As of September 19, the cumulative number of individuals who have received their doses of Covid-19 vaccine in Cagayan de Oro was 369,142.

Of the 369,142 vaccinated Kagay-anons, 233,071 got their first dose of the vaccines, while 136,071 were fully vaccinated.

According to the said report, among the 369,142 vaccinees, 280,076 were vaccinated in City-run vaccination sites and 89,066 were vaccinated in Cagayan de Oro hospitals.

Of the 280,076 individuals vaccinated in City-run vaccination sites, 28,447 were frontline healthcare workers, 53,777 were senior citizens, 78,584 were persons with comorbidities, 107,656 were essential frontline workers, 8,305 were from the A5 priority group and 3,307 were from the Filipino-Chinese community.

Meanwhile, Cagayan de Oro has recorded 76 vaccinated deaths as of September 19.

Of the said figure, 38 were vaccinated with Sinovac vaccine, 19 with AstraZeneca, 11 with Janssen, six with Sputnik V, and two with Pfizer.

Cagayan de Oro now has a total of 812 Covid-19 deaths, in which the majority of them were unvaccinated at 91 percent or 736.
