THE Farmer's Market located in the Provincial Capitol grounds in Cagayan de Oro City has started selling organic products during the Provincial Organic Agriculture Trade Fair along with the launching of the Provincial Organic Farmer's Market last Thursday, October 3.

According to Provincial Agriculture Office (Pagro) head Apollo Pacamalan, selling organic produce will give the farmers the opportunity to gain more income apart from selling fruits and vegetables.

Pacamalan added that through the Provincial Organic Farmer's Market, the industry of organic farming will also improve, especially since the demand for organic products in the market has increased as several consumers starting to be health conscious.

The Pagro head also assured that the products are really organic and not contaminated by any chemicals as the organic products sold in the Farmer's Market were inspected by organic farmers and organic producers.

The price of the organic products, Pacamalan said, will also be affordable to the masses.

"Among tan-aw sinugdanan lang ang mahal but later on daghan ang production ug sakto na ang demand mobarato na kana," Pacamalan said.

The Farmer's Market, which was first launched last January 8, 2018 during the 2018 Kuyamis Festival, is the Provincial Government's way to help the local farmers in Misamis Oriental through displaying, promoting and selling their local products within the Capitol grounds.
