Oro logs 20 new coronavirus cases, total now at 2,400

TWENTY residents of Cagayan de Oro have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 2,400.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said nine of the 20 new local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, three are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors) and eight are local index cases.

Of the 2,400 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 389 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,011 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,011 local cases consist of 155 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), 1,025 local index cases and 831 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 453 active cases, 63 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 377 outpatients, and 13 ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 37 new coronavirus-positive persons, who are now tagged as "recovered" after their repeat swab test results came out negative. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 1,842.

Of the figure, 274 are LSIs, 101 are ROFs and 1,487 are local cases (community: 1,204; Apors: 263).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 105.
