Jo Ann Sablad

THE City Government of Cagayan de Oro is looking into turning the Bell Church in Barangay Macasandig into one of its tourist destinations in Cagayan de Oro, City Administrator Roy Raagas said.

Raagas said the City Tourism Office and the Oro-Trade Investments and Promotions Center will be coordinating with the local Filipino-Chinese community on this endeavor.
The city administrator cited the Taoist Temple in Beverly Hills Subdivision in Cebu City as an example, wherein even the non-believers of this religion visit this famous religious site.
"Usa na sya gaadtoan sa mga tao as part of the tourist circuit nila," Raagas said.
Bell Church, a universal church established by the Chinese in Cagayan de Oro in 1989, was opened to the public during the celebration of the Chinese New Year in the city last week to showcase the Chinese culture and tradition.
