Over 220,000 fully vaccinated in Cagayan de Oro

THE total number of individuals who have received their doses of Covid-19 vaccine in Cagayan de Oro as of October 31 was already 533,964, the City Health Office reported.

Of the 533,964 vaccinated Kagay-anons, 305,061 got their first dose of the vaccines, while 228,903 were fully vaccinated.

The report added that among the 533,964 vaccinees, 424,402 were vaccinated in City-run vaccination sites and 109,562 were vaccinated in Cagayan de Oro hospitals.

Of the 424,402 individuals vaccinated in City-run vaccination sites, 31,048 were frontline healthcare workers, 57,776 were senior citizens, 91,232 were persons with comorbidities, 210,325 were essential frontline workers, 23,707 were from the A5 priority group, 10,156 were from the B1 to B6 and C priority groups, and 158 were from children aged 12 to 17 group.

Meanwhile, Cagayan de Oro has recorded 81 deaths involving vaccinated persons as of October 31.

Of the said figure, 41 were vaccinated with the Sinovac vaccine, 19 with AstraZeneca, 12 with Janssen, six with Sputnik V and three with Pfizer.

Cagayan de Oro now has a total of 837 Covid-19 deaths, in which the majority or 756 (90 percent) were unvaccinated.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit.
