Alwen Saliring

INVESTIGATORS are looking into "rido" or family feud as possible motive in the shooting incident that killed one person and wounded three others in Pantao Ragat, Lanao del Norte Wednesday, January 22.

Killed was Farouk Macarimbang, while wounded Asliah Limgas, 52; Ashmine Limgas, 22; and Nor Aliah Barat, 24, all are residents of Sitio Walu-u, Barangay West Poblacion, Pantao Ragat town.

Investigation revealed that after Macarimbang was shot to death by still unidentified assailants, there was allegedly another group of men who fired at the house of Maimona Rinibatan and hit the three wounded persons.

Police said Macarimbang died on the spot, while the three wounded victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were rushed to the hospital in Iligan City.

After the incident, Pantao Ragat police formed two teams to conduct checkpoints in Barangay East and West Poblacion.

A thorough investigation has already been launched to identify and arrest the perpetrators and put them behind bars.
