PERSONNEL of the Regional Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit 10 destroyed all confiscated illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnics on Saturday, January 7, 2023.

According to PSMS Rick Ryan Acosta of the Regional Civil Security Unit 10, the illegal firecrackers, worth around P13,000, were confiscated during their inspection of retailers in Northern Mindanao, particularly in Bukidnon.

"During the conduct of inspection sa mga retailers natin, particularly in Bukidnon, doon, on the spot, nakita namin na naka display ang mga prohibited firecrackers," Acosta said.

"Kahit meron silang retailer's permit, ito yung ground namin na pwede nating i-revoke ang license nila para sa next time na kukuha sila ng retailer's permit sa RCU-Northern Mindanao, they will be subjected for investigation," he added.

Police Major Joan Navarro, the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Northern Mindanao spokesperson, also reported that the Regional Anti-Cyber Crime Unit-10 have also arrested an online seller who sold illegal firecrackers in Malaybalay, Bukidnon.

Acosta advised retailers to stop selling prohibited or illegal firecrackers in the next New Year's celebration to avoid having their license revoked and confiscation of their products. (SunStar Philippines)
