SMALL Town Lottery (STL) operators in Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental province have yet to resume operations as permittee Diamond Millennium Corporation (DMC) still has to comply with the conditions stipulated by the government.

The DMC is the authorized agent corporation (AAC) that operates STL outlets in Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro City.

Astrid Bana, president of the Misamis Oriental-Cagayan de Oro Lotto Agents Association (Moclaa), said STL operations might resume next week.

President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the lifting of the suspension of STL operations subject to four conditions.

Among the conditions is the additional cash bond equivalent to three months of the share of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in the guaranteed monthly retail receipts (GMRR) on top of the existing cash bonds.

"In the process of the operation nga dili kabayad sa monthly remittance, the cash bond will be forfeited," Bana said.

Bana said there are other conditions that franchise holders must comply to avoid corruption issues.

"Kung maka-comply na ang DMC makabalik na ang operation," Bana said.

"Bug-at gyud ni nga mga conditions but the purpose of this is to avoid corruption," he added. (Alwen Saliring)
