AROUND P10,000 to P15,000 worth of pork and processed meat products were confiscated by the city’s Anti-African Swine Fever (Anti-ASF) Task Force last Monday, February 17, along the Kauswagan highway, Cagayan de Oro City.

According to senior meat control officer Dr. Darryl Rasay, the Citra Mina Seafood and Market Inc. in Cagayan de Oro failed to present their Meat Inspection Certificate.

Confiscated were seven kilos of pork ginisa cut, seven kilos of pork minudo cut, seven kilos of pork adobo cut, 18 kilos of sinigang cut, 56 kilos packs of embotido, 67 packs of longganisa, and 63 packs of tocino.

The confiscated pork meat and processed meat products were burned in Barangay Balubal, this city.

The city’s Anti-ASF Task Force has intensified its measures to safeguard and keep Cagayan de Oro ASF-free as the virus already entered the Mindanao region.
