Bulua Strikers make City Division Meet

BULUA Strikers manned Bulua National High School for three years in a row, dominating the West 2 District Meet’s s secondary boys and girls Futsal events recently at the Merry Child’s football field in Barangay Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City.

The Bulua boys topped the secondary boys football, defeating Merry Child School, 9-0; Pagapat National High School, 6-0; and Canitoan National High School, 7-0.

Leading the Strikers were the Reyes brothers Marjon and Mary John Jr., Jasper Jun Actub Zeph Angelo Ladera, Jesus Morandante Jr., John Patrick Encornal, Daniel Jade Pulmones, Leo Hilarion Jr., Rhex Alba, Prenz Ang, Jay Maictin, Jeric Jerome Fernandez, Kent Wilson Gildo, Junnel Villanueva, Jomarie Maagad, Reyds Cabellon, David Litanon, Jhon Jeric Nacasabog, Charles Harold Salon, and Ceazar Brylle Amante.

“We are now reaping our rewards for our sacrifices and hard work. However, this is just the start of another hard work,’’ said coach and BNHS teacher Jun Actub.

He added that the Division meet will be tough for both teams as defending champions Corpus Christi School in the Secondary Boys and Xavier University in Girls Futsal are very strong.

“Plus powerhouse Rosevale School in the secondary boys and St. Mary’s School in the Girls Futsal are also very strong opponents. The Division meet will be very tough for us,’’ coach Actub added.

The BNHS Girls Futsal team will also be representing West 2 District in the Division meet Futsal event after beating Canitoan NHS, 3-1; Perdro Oloy Roa NHS, 7-1 and Pagatpat NHS, 3-0.

Leading the Bulua Girls are the silver medal performing members of Team CDO in the Batang Pinoy National Championships in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan such as Liezel-An Catamco and Marie Frances Clyde Sebial.

Completing the Bulua Futsal Girls team are Hannah Naldo, Pearl Marquez, Jasmine Tadena, Jerith Dimple Apolo, Louiza Beatrice Lim, Crissa Jane Mayola, Arnnie Lyn Dazo, Stephanie Martinez, Queency Love Canaman, Carol Jane Lantaya, Dizza Acop, Mary Joy Navarro, and Elmera Guevarra.
