Laguindingan cagers hold off visitors in Emano Cup

LAGUINDINGAN basketball teams successfully defended turf against the visiting teams in the 2018 Kuyamis Sportsfest Governor Yevgeny Emano Cup basketball tournament on Saturday at the Laguindingan municipal covered courts.

Laguindingan Heights pulled an opening win via 91-84 conquest of Tagoloan Tarantulas in the 25-under men’s division.

Julien Madridano fired 24 points to lead the Heights, while Wilfred Salupan chipped in 15 markers.

James Honculada had 23 points for Tagoloan’s losing cause, while Brian Taga-Taga doled out 15.

Their senior team, the Laguindingan Sr. Heights bounced back from a 74-100 opening game defeat at the hands of Jasaan with a crushing 88-69 victory over Usbaw Manticao in the LGU men’s division.

Nante Baclayon led sr. Heights with 26 points, while Darwin Garcia added 14.

In the curtain raiser, Alubijid pulled a 64-63 escape victory against Lugait in the 18-under boys division.
