Opol Dolphins in 2-0 start; Naawan jrs win

OPOL Dolphins scored their second straight win in the 2018-2019 Kuyamis sportsfest Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano Cup basketball tournament 25-under division on June 16 at Naawan municipal gym.

This, after the Dolphins drubbed Laguindingan Heights via 94-71 win.

JR Tecson fired 18 points to lead the Dolphins to their second win as Jhon Villastique chipped in 15 markers.

Previously, Villastique’s 25 points paved the way for Opol’s 77-67 conquest of Lugait during the opening day action.

Chris Esparcia finished with 16 points for Laguindingan’s losing cause that also drew 14 from JR Payla.

Host Naawan jr. cagers crushed the jr. Dolphins, 67-52, in the 18-under boys division.

Boos Idnay came up with a game high 18 points to lead Naawan, while Marco Yadao collected 12.

Naawan’s senior team, however, bowed down to Mayor Loloy Mugot’s Gitagum senior cagers, 111-116 in the Local Government Unit (LGU) division.
