Casino Filipino Cebu amps up connection ahead of new player

EVEN with the added competition of a resort casino being built in Mactan Island, Casino Filipino Cebu is poised to grow stronger in the coming years.

“The casino business is doing good. We enjoy the luxury of not having competitors (here),” said Ricardo Uy, Casino Filipino Cebu branch manager, in a press conference yesterday.

He noted that even with the planned development of an integrated casino resort in Mactan, Casino Filipino Cebu and its four satellites expect to continue to enjoy high growth performance in the years ahead.

Casino Filipino Cebu, he said, will not have competitors, at least for the next two years. And even with the completion of the casino project in Mactan, Uy said they are not taken aback.

“That project in Mactan is far from here,” he said.

Udenna Corp. of Davao-based businessman Dennis Uy broke ground on its multi-million-dollar casino project in Mactan last year.

Casino Filipino Cebu is located in the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. Its four satellites are in Mactan, Crown Regency, Parkmall, and Talisay.

Uy said Casino Filipino Cebu is investing heavily in marketing promotions to grow its income every year.

Casino Filipino maintains its position as one of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.’s top-earning branches.

Last year, Casino Filipino Cebu recorded a 6.7 percent revenue increase to P4.8 billion from P4.5 billion in 2016.

The revenue was driven by the branch’s marketing programs and entertainment offerings.

“We never stop creating new marketing programs and we always ensure these programs are patronized by our patrons.”

Yesterday, Casino Filipino Cebu unveiled their Cebu tagline “Your One Great Experience,” which, according to Uy, is expected to bring in growth for the branch and its satellites as they amp up their gaming and entertainment offerings.

“Our new tagline strengthens our connection with our customers. It reinforces our goal to give them a wonderful time and great experience while they are in Cebu,” he said.

Casino Filipino Cebu enjoys high local guest traffic, while 70 percent of its guests in Mactan are foreigners. Baccarat remains the most popular table game played in the Casino Filipino.

With the new tagline also comes other offerings such as entertainment shows that showcase more local artists. Uy said they also plan to add days for bingo sessions, aside from the four regular sessions in the main branches, to allow more guests to play.

Casino Filipino Cebu will launch its new tagline on July 28.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
