CHELSEA Logistics and Infrastructure Holdings Corp. has acquired SuperCat Fast Ferry Corporation from 2GO Group Incorporated.

Davao tycoon Dennis Uy is the chairman of both Chelsea and 2GO, which are listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange.

In separate stock exchange disclosures Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, Chelsea said the transaction was made on October 9.

2GO, in its disclosure, said that "as of the closing of the sale, SuperCat is no longer a subsidiary of 2GO."

To recall, Chelsea earlier acquired another Cebuano shipping company, Trans-Asia Shipping Lines.

Chelsea acquired indirect interest in 2GO in 2017 and has since managed the company.

Chelsea is a subsidiary of the Udenna Corporation, Uy’s holding company which has interests in oil, food, property, telecommunications, gaming, tourism and infrastructure.

SuperCat, meanwhile, operates six vessels serving Cebu, Tagbilaran, Ormoc, Bacolod, Iloilo, Calapan and Batangas. (Carlo S. Lorenciana)
