GLOBE Telecom is putting its strategy to promote digital transformation in the Philippines into high gear. Globe’s mobile service revenues surged to P25.98 billion in the first quarter. “We are optimistic that the Philippines will be able to catch up with the rest of the region in terms of ICT adoption. We see internet services improving steadily due to continuous investments on network infrastructure. As such leading companies, including SMEs will be encouraged to ride on the digital bandwagon to make service delivery more efficient and reach more customers,” Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu said. To help achieve digital transformation, Globe wants to foster digital education at the grade school level. Globe also supports having a strong IT curriculum so the Philippines can create the next generation of IT leaders similar to countries like India and China. As Globe expands and upgrades its network infrastructure, the company will look for more synergies and innovative solutions to provide customers with better services. (PR)
