JNDC finds niche in socialized housing

PROPERTY developer J. Nitton Development Corp. is adding socialized housing to its footprint with Esperanza Homes.

Haydee King, president of JNDC, told SunStar Cebu that they want to provide proper housing for those who are underserved.

“We refocused the thrust of JNDC, together with my husband Mario. We want to serve the sector of society that needs socialized housing most. We decided that the houses we will produce will be dignified and complete,” she said.

King said another property for socialized housing will rise in Bogo City after Esperanza Homes in Carcar City sold fast.

The four-hectare Esperanza Carcar is composed of 640 units, with 80 percent allotted for socialized housing.

“What is different from other socialized housing units is that it’s fully finished and it has its own division, with two small rooms for a price of P450,000,” she said.

Esperanza Homes is intended for families who are looking for an affordable house to live in.

King said they will soon launch their 2.6-hectare socialized housing property in Bogo City that will have more than 300 units.

Janice Dulanie King, managing director of JNDC, said competitors who delved into socialized housing sell their units with the same rates bare.

“There’s a price ceiling for it but they sell it bare—meaning, no paint, no compartments. So, us, we try to give our buyers units that are decent,” she said.

Janice said they only have 70 units left out of more than 600 units and will soon be sold out in Carcar.

She said the units sold fast within just two months.

The company broke ground on its high-end project, The Heights 2, in Barangay Linao, Talisay City on Friday, May 17.

The 2,400-square-meter property will have 11 units of two-story single detached houses and two-story standard houses.

The target market for The Heights 2 are retirees and overseas Filipino workers who want to settle in a home with a view overlooking the sea.

The prices of the units range from P7 million to P9 million and the whole property is targeted to be finished in mid-2020.
