THE Department of Tourism (DOT) is urging the private sector to invest more in developing the country’s tourism areas.

“We need all kinds of businesses from accommodation, food and beverage services. We need transport operators, tour and travel agencies. We need facilities that will help us provide tourists the best experience whatever product they choose from beach adventure to wellness,” said Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat during the Franchise Asia Philippines 2019 International Conference.

She said the department is undertaking a convergence program where it coordinates with other national government agencies.

She cited the DOT’s collaboration with the Department of Transportation in the construction, rehabilitation and upgrading of the country’s domestic and international airports. (Philexport News and Features)
