From ‘Bagets’ to ‘Squad Goals’

Sunnexdesk

TIMES have changed since Viva Films’ phenomenal 1984 movie “Bagets” set the trend for youth-oriented films. But even after three decades, a young man’s thirst for adventure, the need to belong while staying true to himself, the struggle to keep it all together in the face of academic stress, love problems and family issues, and the thrill of going through it all with real friends—themes like these still make for a relevant movie. Hence comes “Squad Goals,” directed by multi-awarded filmmaker Mark Meily.

In this dramedy, Julian Trono, Vitto Marquez, Andrew Muhlach, Dan Huschka and Jack Reid portray the roles of college students who find camaraderie.

Vitto is the son of Joey Marquez and Alma Moreno; Andrew is the brother of the original “Bagets” superstar Aga Muhlach, and Jack is the brother of James Reid. (PR)
