WITH classes opening recently (others still have to open though), Regal Entertainment bosses thought it proper to release its latest treat that teenage students can easily relate to.

According to the promo material, the movie “Walwal” focuses on a struggling student-athlete with daddy issues, a playboy who changes his ways after falling for a girl, the hopeless romantic, and the nice guy who experiences love for the first time.

The movie stars Elmo Magalona, Kiko Estrada, Donny Pangilinan, Jerome Ponce and Kisses Delavin, among others. It is directed by Jose Javier Reyes, who reportedly said that “Walwal” is the updated version of his earlier project, “Pare Ko.”

It’s nice to note that Martin Nievera is given the chance once again to showcase his gift of gab through a new project.

Martin was acknowledged before as one of the country’s best talk show hosts. He used to be pit against another actor with the gift of gab, Edu Manzano.

Hopefully, Martin’s new project will rate high to make late nights more enjoyable.

One talented local thespian whose efforts to give life to various characters in her four decades of showbiz career never fail to attract the attention of showbiz observers is Odette Khan.

Finally, she was acknowledged by the Star Awards for Movies, the Famas and the Gawad Urian for her role in “Barboys.” That’s three best supporting actress awards in a row for the same role.

While it took 40 years of waiting for Odette, popular rapper Abra got a best actor award in his first acting project for the movie “Respeto” in the Gaward Urian. Abra found it hard to believe that he had bested other worthy opponents.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
