A week-long celebration of arts

FOLLOWING a successful launch last year, Cebu Design Week (CDW) is slated to have a grander second edition this 2019.

CDW envisions connecting, creating and cultivating the region’s business and design sectors. The week-long celebration is set to happen this Sept. 8 to 15 at the region’s biggest convention center, IC3 Pavilion. It will showcase a variety of events in some locations around Cebu province. CDW’s main events will happen at the convention center on Sept. 13 to 15.

The celebration aims to bridge the disparate creative fields and industries through events that will feature designs, arts and culture. The events include exhibits, maker’s market, a design summit, workshops, speed networking, daily live performances, the Blue Mango Awards and creative festivals.

It is also a good opportunity for local designers to gather and collaborate. A mix people of government representatives, business owners, industry professionals, startups, artists, creatives and university students are expected to join the event. CDW can help boost the city’s creative economy and formulate strategies for futuristic developments without compromising cultural heritage and traditional artisanship.
