FROM wearing a gold medal to an engagement ring real quick.

After a month of being engaged, Mary Joy Tabal on Sunday, February 21, 2021, could not help but be transported back in time when she and her then-boyfriend (now fiance), Dan Jimenez, who is a member of the Philippine Navy, first met.

In an Instagram post, Tabal reminisced the very first time Jimenez came to Cebu just to meet her.

"February 21, 2018, exactly three years ago when Dan first visited me in Cebu to introduce himself personally. We had a quick one-day date and a lifetime of sweet memories!" Tabal said.

The couple was engaged on January 15, 2021. Tabal and Jimenez have been dating for three years.

Tabal is known for being the first female marathon runner in the Philippines to qualify for the Olympics.

She also gave the country its first gold medal when she won the 42-kilometer women's marathon during the 29th Southeast Asian Games on August 19, 2017. (RSR)
