CEBU’S third Russian Film Festival showcased a cultural collection of films at the School of Architecture, Fine Arts & Design (Safad) Theatre of the University of San Carlos-Talamban last Dec. 5. The film festival was proudly presented by the Embassy of the Russian Federation and the University of San Carlos to significantly promote the traditional Russian culture for local viewers to learn from.

“The aim of this film festival is to promote culture. Through cultural exchange, we can bring our nations together,” said the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of the Philippines, his Excellency, Igor Anatolyevich Khovaev, as he graced the event together with Honorary Consul Armi Lopez Garcia last Wednesday.

The festival screened three feature Russian films made with top quality cinematic technology and techniques. It screened “Salyut 7” (an award-winning film for “Best Picture” at the 2018 Golden Eagle Awards in Russia), “Guardians of the Night” and “The Icebreaker.” PR
