Espina: Best Christmas feelings

Mila C. Espina

SEDA Ayala Center Cebu crafted a truly exquisite dinner to give a small group a taste of Christmas. Hotel general manager Gwen de la Cruz and her staff had all things prepared: Red and gold motif, stage glitters, songs by the Mandaue Children’s Choir and the perfect menu. Every course had hints of chocolate from appetizer and soup to entree and dessert—all courtesy of Raquel Choa, the Sikwate Queen. These were all served with finesse by the zealous waiters.

What’s in store for Christmas at Seda? The Christmas Eve buffet at P2,000 and Christmas lunch buffet for P1,250. There’s also a dazzling getaway room package, room countdown party package, and holiday sweets and treats at very affordable prices. The New Year feast features a dinner buffet, countdown party, dinner and countdown party—the ultimate ‘New Year’s Eve package,” all on Dec. 31. This here’s the best way to greet 2020.

Christmas tree lighting comes soonest on Nov. 8 at Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino, Nov. 9 at Radisson Blu Cebu and Nov. 16 at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. The Yuletide season came too soon and I hardly prepared for it.

A group of society columnists was invited to an intimate lunch hosted by Summit Galleria Cebu and Robinsons Galleria Cebu. It was held at Providore, the hotel’s main dining outlet. Floramie Adolfo, senior regional operations manager – Cebu and Eastern Visayas of Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC), gave us updates on developments of the entire Robinsons Galleria Cebu Complex. Together with the mall, Robinsons Galleria Cebu, Summit Galleria Cebu and Robinsons Residences make up the centerpiece of the 4.6-hectare complex.

Hotel general manager Arlene Tongco, F&B director Tony Mingo and executive sous chef Randy Origenes also talked about Providore’s “all around good vibes” with its authentic American and home-style Filipino cuisine. The gathering was held upon the invitation of Robby Alugar of RMA Public Relations and Marketing Services.

The whole Robinsons Galleria Cebu Complex is already shaping up to be the vibrant mixed-use development it has been envisioned to become. Robinsons Galleria Cebu is already in full swing with a 92-percent tenant occupancy, while Summit Galleria Hotel has been serving guests with its 220 tastefully done up hotel rooms.

The entire complex sits on a 4.6-hectare lot which is designed to be Cebu’s next landmark lifestyle destination by RLC. Aside from the hotel and the mall, the centerpiece of the development, the complex will also house Galleria Residences and a business process outsourcing office building.
