Happy birthday

Chinggay V. Utzurrum

ACE veterinarian and good friend, doctor Ed de la Cruz, was the proud and beaming celebrator at his umpteenth red-letter day recently. The entire event, from meticulous start to overwhelming finish, was executed with utmost skill and attention to detail by charming better-half, food columnist (“Kitchen Stories”), Aissa. Elegant venue was the Taste of Mandarin at Gaisano Country Mall, where a formal setting of a couple of lauriat tables greeted the guests.

A casual guest survey focused on the couple’s closely knit family and familiar faces from their personal and professional life. Indeed, it had been many moons ago that Ed and Aissa, both Manila-based, moved to our Queen City and loved it! Their legion of buddies can attest to that!

A culinary highlight was the symbolic cake-blowing of Aissa’s masterpiece, a fluffy sponge cake topped with cherries. What a treat! The Chinese cuisine was a repast to die for!

Many happy returns, Ed, and here’s our wish for happiness forever!
